A Radiating Shadow of Light Part 1

The night sky is purple. That’s what I realize when I open my eyes. Two full moons hang in the sky. One moon glows blue, and the other moon glows a fiery red. The stars constantly shoot across the sky, creating a stream of light. I sit up and look around me. I’m in a forest of glowing trees that stretch high above me. The grass is tall and dark green. It sways in the wind peacefully. I look down at myself and I see that I’m wearing a torn shirt and and stained black pants.

I feel like I’m in a surreal dream. I don’t know where I am or who I am. I try to stand only to collapse back to the ground. My leg throbs in pain, indicating that I am injured. I scream in pain and quickly stop. There could be something out there that wanted to kill me. I start to drag myself forward, when I see  something shiny in the distance. I manage to get next to it. I find out that it’s a sword stained with blood. On the hilt of the sword there is a purple gem that looks old. On the top of the hilt are two outstretched wings. The blade was silver and it was sharp. On the hilt there was a name carved in it. It reads: Aren D. Light. I take a random guess that the name carved in the hilt is my name. Til I know who I really am, my name will be Aren.

I sit against a tree watching night turn into day. The morning sky lights up with red as I see the orange sun Rise. I carefully stand up using the sword to support me. Soon the whole sky is pale yellow with light radiating everything.

“Hello.” A feminine voice says behind me. I whirl around only to fall back to the ground. She looks a little shorter than me. She wears a small, blue shirt that exposes her stomach and a long green skirt with twisting designs on it. She has a spear in her hand that’s taller than her. She has long dark blue hair.

“Are you out hunting as well?” I start backing away carefully. “Wait! Don’t go. Where are you from? Are you injured? What’s your name?” She asks so many questions. I can’t find a way to answer. All I can do is cry. The tears stream down my face and her smile fades away. “I’m Luna. I can help.” She slowly leans down to me and takes my sword. She examines it in her hands. Then hands it back to me.

“Luna! What is taking so long?!” A tall guy stands behind Luna. He has blonde hair and wears a long coat that looks like a uniform. Under the coat he wears loose pants and no shirt. “Who’s that?” he asks irritated.

“I don’t know.” she replies biting her lip. “Let’s take him back to the city.”

“We planned to hunt today though.” He puts his hand on his hip and glances at me. “Besides, I think you’re scaring him.” He laughs.

“Shut up and help me already.” She says rolling her eyes. Each of them put my arms on their shoulders and lifted me. As they carried me through the forest I managed to calm down. I listened to all their inside jokes and they weren’t all that bad to listen to.

“I’m.. Aren.” I said quietly. The guy glanced at me and smiled.

“Hey! you spoke! That’s a first! I’m Lucio. Where are you from?” He says trying to stay positive. In the distance I see a city with a stone castle in the middle. At the top of the castle is a flag waving in the wind. I start feeling dizzy and lean more weight on Luna. “Woah! are you okay?”

“Lucio! He’s going to pass out!” Luna says as I collapse on her. I close my eyes as a headache starts to settle in my head. “Aren! Stay awake please!” She feels for my pulse. I hear a group of people walking towards us. It sounds like an army but I can’t tell.
